One Stop Self-Employment Training (WIB)

The Center will be conducting training with One Stop programs and Job Centers to increase Self-employment as a viable outcome for One Stop/Job Center Customers. The training materials and activities are made possible through a grant with the State of Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development. One face-to-face training will be made at each One Stop/Job Center to present general information about Self-employment and what is required for successful development. Follow up audio conference trainings will be conducted to review progress, and to spend more time on specific related topics of interest including Disability Benefits and Self-Employment, Self-Employment the Business Plan, Marketing and Sales, Self-Employment Resources, and Self-employment tips and traps. The project will also make recommendations to the WIB regarding barriers to Self-employment, and system change recommendations to improve access to self-employment for One Stop/Job Center customers.

These books have recently been published by the UAA Center for Human Development with funding from the State of Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development. These booklets require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader and are approximately 195K in size.
