Training & Technical Assistance

The College Access Project for Rural Alaska (CAPRA) at the University of Alaska Anchorage – Center for Human Development, in collaboration with UAA Disability Support Services, provides professional development opportunities to adjunct and full-time faculty at three UAA colleges located in southcentral Alaska. All six participating campuses received various types of training and technical assistance opportunities throughout the life of the grant. Initially, Facilitator and Faculty Workshops were provided. Teams of facilitators met via audio conference on a monthly basis throughout the development and implementation of grant activities. Finally as the cadre of adjuncts, full-time faculty, and staff increased, virtual training and technical assistance sessions were scheduled each month that were open to all campus participants. A mixture of audio-conferences, webinars, and live interactive video sessions provided individuals on rural campuses to speak with professionals from other OPE Demonstration Projects.
